Using cut nails and old growth white pine, the pews were built into the church when the church was built. Originally men and women did not sit together so a partition wall was incorporated into the design of the pews. The posts supporting the balcony were in the way so holes were cut into the pews and were built around the posts. By eliminating the rows with the balcony posts through the seats and changing the spacing the rows, more room was created for the comfort of the congregation. Some of the pews that had holes in them were shortened, making room for wheel chairs. The center dividing wall was eliminated and new supports were manufactured to take their place. The sanctuary is located on the second floor. The pews were too long to take down the stairs, so we removed a storm window and lowered them to the truck using a platform lift. They were returned in the same manner.
