Green Terrace Mennonite church is a small church located about 5 miles south of Wernersville, PA.  Our point of contact was Melvin and Dorothy Algyer, who were absolutely fantastic to work with.  Melvin rebuilt all the bookracks  because the original design would not properly accommodate their books.  He did a great job and they all screwed back on with no problems.

Another shot as we were begining the removal

Removing bookracks

Normally, we do this in our shop, but Melvin wanted to modify the bookracks himself so we removed them and left them there.

Removing From the Floor

All the pews must be unscrewed from the floor.

Ramp

We built a ramp from the door to the truck for loading.

Careful placement

The ends of the pews must be carefully placed on the cart so as not to damage the veneer.

Moving Out

We roll the pews out of the buildin on dollies.

Loading

Carefully guiding the pews into the truck.

Up the ramp

Carefully we must move the pews up the ramp and watch that we don't catch the middle leg on the "hump".

Loading inside

A view of the inside of the truck as we placed one of the first pews removed.

It looks so Empty!

But it is not. God is always in our hearts.

Halfway

Half of the pews are now loaded.

Almost done!

Rebuilt Bookracks

Later, Melvin brought the rebuilt bookracks to our shop. At Shultz Refinishing we are willing to work with our customers to accomodate their special needs.

Sand and Repair

In our shop we place the pews on taller carts to work on them.

Delivery!

Our trucks pull up to deliver. The semi is owned and operated by Bamberger's of Lebanon, PA, a long established business here. We hire them for larger jobs.

Our Customer

Melvin Algyer represented the church. Melvin was great to work with.

Ready to unload

OK guys, let's get to it!

Preplacement

As we unload, each pew is placed close to where it was originally. Then it will be adjusted to it's final spot.

Making placement

Prior to removing the pews the loction of each pew was mapped out. Now we put them back where they were origianlly.

Almost empty

Just about done unloading.

All Done!

A view of the finished product!

Thank you
